FREE: Downloadable Reward Chart

The Basics

To change unwanted behavior or create a new positive behavior, we focus on the positives and reward when we don’t see the unwanted behavior. This is called positive reinforcement which is the best way to teach new behaviors. We do not punish we see the unwanted behavior, its best to ignore it, or count it out loud to start increasing awareness.

This Reward Chart or Sticker Chart is how we start: reward for small effort, which increases motivation and confidence. Let the child/teen choose the reward, as different people are motivated by different things, this doesn’t always have to be material items. Example: pick favourite dinner, pick dessert, one-on-one walk with mom/dad, additional screen time, dollar store prize bin.
